Professional Development Possibilities
The Moore Center has many ways of providing professional development for Arkansas teachers. We could customize a program on a given topic such as the economic dimensions of Arkansas history and bring it to your school or district. We can conduct a program on youth entrepreneurship with hands-on activities for the teachers and students. A favorite for elementary schools includes the use of children’s books to teach the social studies frameworks. Globalization is a hot topic for secondary teachers. We are trained on a curriculum with excellent activities on this topic. Our programs can last from one to 35 hours. Although we do not directly serve students, we have hosted student events that were culminating activities to semester studies on economics, personal finance or youth entrepreneurship. The list below gives you an idea of programs developed for school districts.
All programs based on Arkansas Frameworks and count for Arkansas Department of Education Professional Development credits.
